with these bagels! I had never before contemplated making my own bagels. I assumed they were a long, painstaking process to make and one of those things you just need to buy from a professional. A while back I was reading chow.com, and came across their bagel project. I read the comments where everyone positively raved about the bagels. I reviewed the recipe and discovered the bagels dough needs 30 minutes resting time, total, and that I had almost all the ingredients in my pantry. easy peasy! The result was incredible. P came home, saw the finished bagels cooling, and was so impressed he had to take more photos of them. He actually said that they were probably the most professional thing I have ever made- which is a big complement.
